Course Attendance Policy

For courses requiring enrollment, active attendance and participation are important. Because seating is limited in courses, we ask that participants take attendance seriously and make an effort to come to classes. Results and improvements in language study are linked to in-person presence at language classes.

In keeping with this policy:

• In the event that a participant needs to miss a class, the participant should message the teacher ahead of time.

• A certificate of completion for a course is issued only if a participant is present at 80% or more of the course sessions.

• If a participant misses more than two classes in a row without an acceptable excuse, that participant may be considered to have inconsistent attendance and may be dropped from the course.

• In the event that a participant drops out of the course (voluntarily or because of inconsistent attendance), that participant's spot will be offered to the next applicant on the course waiting list.
